It’s inevitable that ice-cold beverages are flavour of the month when the weather heats up… we all need to cool off somehow, after all, and what better way to achieve this than by settling down with a cocktail in hand and a few hours to kill?
One particular tipple proving especially popular at the moment is frozen rosé - basically a slushie for adults! It’s seriously yummy and very easy to make yourself… although, perhaps, a bit too easy and you may find yourself imbibing a little more frequently than common sense would dictate.
All you need to do is pour a bottle of dry rose into a dish of some kind and freeze it overnight. When it’s time to party, hull and halve a punnet of strawberries and mix them with 50g of caster sugar, leaving them for half an hour so they start to get all juicy.
Then blend the frozen rose with your strawberries and sugar, and the juice of a lemon and lo and behold! You have the perfect summer drink in your hand!
What’s great about this drink is that it’s easily customisable and you can make all sorts of different flavours, just by switching the fruit around. Not a fan of strawberries? Chuck in raspberries instead! Or go totally tropical with slices of mango… it’s entirely up to you.
We’d love to hear what creations you come up with so once you’ve perfected the art of the frozen rose, let us know what you’ve been drinking.
